AAA estimates 47.7 million Americans to travel for Fourth of July
The AAA is predicting more than 47.7 million Americans will hit the road on Independence Day weekend. It expects numbers will fully recover from last year, with about 40% more travelers.
It projects traveler numbers will be just 2.5% down from 2019 pre-pandemic levels. There is still some reluctance over flying with only 3.5 million people planning to fly to their destination.
Based on AAA Travel bookings so far, Orlando is the top holiday leisure destination.
