Accor hotels success at 2005 NSW Tourism Awards

Saturday, 30 Nov, 2005 0

Accor hotels enjoyed double the success at the 2005 NSW Tourism Awards last week with its premier south coast property, Novotel Northbeach Wollongong, and budget style Hotel Ibis Newcastle both winning awards.

The Novotel Northbeach Wollongong confirmed its place as the state’s top conference venue by taking out the Meetings and Business Tourism Award.  The award winning conference facilities include 13 meeting rooms, 9 with stunning ocean views, extensive exhibition space and a pillarless ballroom catering for up to 600 delegates.

Having won the Illawarra Tourism Award in the same category recently, General Manager Walter Immoos was thrilled to receive the state tourism award.

“This award confirms that not only are we the best in the region, but can also more than compete with city hotels and provide a unique conference venue,” he said.

To celebrate the win, the Novotel Northbeach is offering a special* to conference clients.  Book and hold a residential conference of over 25 delegates before the 30th April 2006 and receive either a $200 Myer Gift Voucher, a $200 Oroton Voucher or an Ipod Shuffle.  Contact Conference Sales on (02) 4224 3111 or email [email protected].

Hotel Ibis Newcastle enjoyed a 100% success rate in its category being the first time it was nominated for Best Standard Accommodation.  Following a win in the same category at the Hunter Regional Tourism Awards in August, the NSW Award win firmly establishes the Ibis as a viable base for guests looking to save money on accommodation whilst exploring the Hunter region.

Conveniently located close to the CBD, the Ibis Newcastle is part of the Honeysuckle waterfront development – a five km stretch along Newcastle’s popular harbour foreshore offering a wide choice of restaurants, cafes, live entertainment, cultural activities and walking promenades, all a short walk from the hotel’s front door.

“This caps off a remarkable year for Ibis Newcastle, and it is all due to the hard work of the Ibis team who have raised the level of service to a new high for our guests,” said General Manager, Andrew Hills.

Guests can stay at the Hotel Ibis Newcastle from $99 per night* with the famous Ibis $1 breakfast (per person)* available until 31 January 2006.  For bookings contact Accor Reservations on 1300 65 65 65.  Stay at an Accor hotel, including the Ibis, this summer for the chance to win a Commonwealth Games package – full details visit www.accorhotels.com.au
