AccorHotels takes majority stake in 21c Museum Hotels
AccorHotels has announced an agreement to acquire a majority stake in 21c Museum Hotels.
21c Museum Hotels established its first property in Louisville and its concept combines a multi-venue featuring contemporary art spaces, boutique hotels and chef-driven restaurants.
It has eight properties currently operating in Bentonville, Cincinnati, Durham, Kansas City, Lexington, Louisville, Nashville and Oklahoma City.
Three more are n development in Des Moines, Miami and Chicago.
AccorHotels will buy 85% of 21c Museum Hotels, which takes its name from its model as the only collecting museum in North America dedicated to 21st century art.
It was founded by contemporary art collectors Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson in 2006.
Open 24 hours a day, 21c’s exhibitions and art programs are free to the public.
