Activities Abroad is voluntarily giving money back to customers who have booked holidays to Norway to reflect favourable exchange rates.
The Activity and adventure specialist said it had been cautious when it calculated its prices for Norway, but there has been a significant rise in sterling against the Krona.
“Because of this we are set to make a greater profit than envisaged and feel we should share the windfall with our clients,†said managing director Alistair McLean explains.
“With the Euro having been so strong last summer, many operators charged their clients a supplement which we at Activities Abroad felt was unreasonable – after all we didn’t all rush to give our clients discounts when the Euro was at an all time high the summer before.â€
It is returning 5% of the total holiday cost to customers who have already booked to visit Norway this winter, and is also cutting prices by 5% to Norwegian holidays purchased while sterling remains at current levels.
