Adults require vaccinations on Royal Caribbean’s new Bahamas sailings
Royal Caribbean will restart cruises in the Americas with seven-night sailings to the Bahamas and Mexico.
Adventure of the Seas will homeport in Nassau in June.
Bookings go live on 24 March for sailings commencing on 12 June for adults who have been vaccinated and children under 18 with a negative Covid test.
All crew will be vaccinated.
Sailings offer two days on Perfect Day at CocoCay and call at Grand Bahama Island and Cozumel, Mexico.
"The vaccines are clearly a game changer for all of us, and with the number of vaccinations and their impact growing rapidly, we believe starting with cruises for vaccinated adult guests and crew is the right choice," said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.
Details on additional health and safety measures to be implemented by Royal Caribbean will be announced at a later date.
"As we anticipate a promising return to a vibrant tourism industry, news that the cruise industry is going to begin homeporting in The Bahamas is exciting. Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of passengers will experience Nassau or Grand Bahama in ways they never had the opportunity to before," said the Dr. Hubert A. Minnis, Prime Minister of The Bahamas.
Royal Caribbean recently announced its first fully vaccinated cruises from Israel.
