Aeromexico has become the latest in a steady stream of airlines to exit the Venezuela market.
In a statement the airline said it is suspending the Mexico City – Caracas route indefinitely due to the ‘complicated economic situation.’
Aeromexico began flying the route five years ago.
Airlines have been unable to convert currency from ticket sales revenue in the country with IATA claiming Venezuela is holding on to an estimated $3.8 billion in revenue generated by foreign carriers.
Last month both Chile-based LATAM and Lufthansa announced they were pulling out of Venezuela.
Aeromexico has requested passengers holding tickets to contact the airline for refunds or to discuss other travel options.
