The American Hotel & Lodging Association is offering hard-pressed hotel employees free educational resources.
The covid-19 pandemic has left many out of work, stuck at home self-quarantining or struggling for customers amid historic low occupancy levels.
AHLA estimates eight million hotel industry employees have been affected.
The AHLA Foundation will provide hospitality management online courses, English as a Second Language, GED and associate degree college courses, and professional development scholarships for AHLA certifications.
They are offered through the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) during April.
"With nearly four million hotel workers losing their jobs because of this public health crisis, the AHLA Foundation aims to provide free opportunities to help employees advance their skills and education so that when we all get back to work, they are one step ahead," said Rosanna Maietta, president of AHLA Foundation.
