Air Astana rolling out in-flight Wi-Fi

Wednesday, 6 April 20163 min read
Kazakhstan carrier Air Astana will install high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi to its Boeing 767 aircraft later this year after signing an agreement with aviation IT provider, Rockwell Collins.
In September Air Astana will be one of the first airlines in the world to deploy the Inmarsat Global Xpress (GX) high speed system.
"As a customer-oriented airline, Air Astana is always looking to improve the passenger experience on the ground and in the air. We’re very excited about the new in-flight connectivity opportunities that GX reliably provides to Air Astana passengers," said Andrey Gulev, Air Astana commercial engineering manager.
The service will be available to economy and business class passengers with their own devices.
"This GX Aviation service opens up new possibilities for Air Astana and its customers and they will soon experience what only a handful of others around the world will—the fastest and most reliable in-flight connectivity available," said Jeff Standerski, senior vice president, Information Management Services for Rockwell Collins.
