Air China has announced its keenly awaited service to Cuba will take-off from December 27, 2015.
A first of its kind for an Asia based carrier, the Havana flights operate via Montreal from Beijing and then continues south to the Caribbean after a short stopover in Canada.
Air China’s Beijing-Montreal service began on September 29.
Flights operate three times a week using Boeing 777-300ER and Havana will become Air China’s 10th destination in the Americas.
The airline already serves New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Vancouver, Montreal, Hawaii and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
