Air New Zealand increasing Houston capacity

Friday, 11 Oct, 2017 0

Citing strong demand, Air New Zealand is upping capacity on its Houston route with seasonal daily service.

From March 25 to October 27 next year, the Kiwi flag carrier will operate between six and seven flights a week, up from the current five flights.

This adds an extra 16,000 seats on the route, Air New Zealand said.

It began flying to Houston in December 2015.

It will deploy its newly configured B787-9 Dreamliner on the route from December this year, which features more premium seating.

"Houston is unlocking huge demand for travel to New Zealand from across the South, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, with annual visitor arrivals up 21% from Texas," said chief revenue officer Cam Wallace.

"As a transit hub, Houston also offers Kiwi travelers better onward connections to popular East Coast destinations like New York, Boston and Miami."

Air NZ also serves Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
