Air rage flyer to pay Delta for flight diversion

A passenger whose erratic behavior caused a Delta Air Lines flight to divert has been ordered to pay for the disruption.

As part of a plea agreed with the U.S. attorney’s office in Oklahoma, Bolutife Olorunda will pay $9,118 for the cost of the emergency landing to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Olorunda began acting erratically and screaming on a flight in May, and when approached by a flight attendant said: "Don’t touch me and if you touch me again you will regret it."

Among the 178 people onboard were two federal air marshals.

One sat with Olorunda to calm him down and the other secured the cockpit.

After the captain declared an emergency and landed in Tulsa, Olorunda was arrested.

He still faces up to six months in prison and a fine up to $5,000.
