Air Tahiti Nui increases flights

Sunday, 24 Mar, 2006 0

Tahiti, the USA and Paris will be more accessible from this Sunday, when Air Tahiti Nui, the international airline of Tahiti and Her Islands, introduces a third weekly flight from Australia.

Flight TN 4 will depart Sydney every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 9.15, arriving in Papeete approximately seven hours later, and connecting with onward nonstop flights to New York and Los Angeles.

Each of the three Los Angeles flights will continue to Paris, as will the Sunday flight to New York.

The increase follows the airline’s successful launch last year of two weekly flights from Sydney to Papeete, with onward nonstop services to Los Angeles and New York.

Craig Lee, Regional Director Australia for Air Tahiti Nui, said the new three-flight schedule from Sydney introduced the attractive possibility for Australians to take short break holidays in Tahiti.

Three flights per week also offer new opportunities for travellers to combine business or holiday visits to the USA and Europe with a stopover in Tahiti.

Air Tahiti Nui operates a fleet of long-range Airbus A340-300 aircraft, seating 294 passengers in a three-class cabin – six in First Class, 24 in Business Class and 264 in Economy Class. Every seat is equipped with a personal video screen, offering a selection of movies, information and games.

The airline also offers a unique and understated style of cabin service, which has been a major factor in three consecutive accolades as Best Pacific Carrier in the annual Skytrax Awards for airlines. The in-flight service is truly Tahitian, from the warm island welcome and the blend of Polynesian and local catering flavours to the change by female cabin crew members to traditional outfits during the flight.
