Airbnb adds new range of services

Airbnb is expanding beyond home rentals this summer with new travel services, exclusive experiences, boutique hotels, and AI-powered tools designed to make trips easier and more personalized.

Airbnb introduced Experiences and Services, allowing travelers to book accommodations, local activities, and in-home services like private chefs all in one app. In 2026, Airbnb is adding more services aimed at simplifying every stage of a trip. New features include grocery delivery, airport transfers, luggage storage, and rental cars directly through the Airbnb app.

In the US, guests in more than 25 cities can order groceries through a partnership with Instacart, including optional pre-stocking before arrival. Airport pickup services are also being rolled out in more than 160 cities worldwide through Welcome Pickups, offering private transfers with flight tracking and curbside pickup.

Airbnb has also partnered with Bounce for luggage storage, giving travelers access to more than 15,000 bag drop locations across 175 cities. Rental cars will soon be bookable directly in the app, with vehicles suggested based on the traveler’s group size and location.

The company is also significantly expanding Airbnb Experiences, which currently average guest ratings of 4.93 out of 5 stars. Thousands of new activities led by local experts are being added across categories such as landmarks, food culture, and major events.

More than 3,000 landmark-focused experiences are now available, offering guided access to attractions including Tower of London, Tokyo Skytree, and Taj Mahal.

Food experiences are also expanding through partnerships with Chef’s Table and Grand Central Market. Travelers can join exclusive culinary events, including a six-course dining experience in Rome with Michelin-starred chef Gianfranco Pascucci or cocktail sessions at top bars in Paris.

Airbnb is also leaning into sports tourism with exclusive experiences tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026. Fans will be able to attend watch parties hosted by former US soccer stars Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy, or train with Argentine football legend Javier Mascherano.

Independant hotels bookable on Airbnb

In accommodation, Airbnb is introducing thousands of boutique and independent hotels across 20 major destinations, including New York City, Paris, London, Madrid, Rome, and Singapore. Airbnb said the properties are independently operated and selected for their design, location, and hospitality standards rather than brand affiliation.

The platform is also introducing a price-match guarantee for hotels and offering Airbnb credit rewards for select bookings.

Alongside the new travel products, Airbnb is rolling out several AI-powered app upgrades. New AI review summaries will highlight key information from guest reviews, including amenities, location, and family-friendly features, helping travelers avoid reading through hundreds of comments.

An AI comparison tool, launching later this year, will help users compare saved listings with summaries of the best features of each property. Airbnb is also launching shared itineraries, allowing groups to organize reservations, restaurants, activities, and travel times in one collaborative trip planner.

Another upcoming feature, called Connections & Travel Map, will allow users to see where friends and family have traveled on Airbnb, including the homes and experiences they booked and the reviews they left.

Customer support is also being upgraded with an AI-powered assistant available in 11 languages. The tool can access trip details, provide interactive help inside the chat, and later this year will expand to voice support.

Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky said the company wants travel to be more meaningful as well as convenient, with the new features designed to help travelers explore destinations more deeply while simplifying logistics throughout the journey.

New Airbnb Services, Airbnb Experiences, and boutique hotels are available across select countries worldwide today, while car rentals, the redesigned homepage, shared itinerary tools, and additional app features will roll out later this summer.
