Neighbours living near Airbnb hosts irked by noisy short term guests will soon have an outlet to vent their frustration.
Airbnb said it will roll out a function for neighbours to submit comments online to its customer service team which will be reviewed by the company.
The new service was announced by Yasuyuki Tanabe, head of Airbnb in Japan, one of the home-sharing site’s fastest growing markets.
He said the service is being rolled out globally in the coming weeks.
It was not confirmed whether Airbnb customers would be able to view comments left by neighbours.
"One of the most important issues facing the sharing economy is how the people choosing to take part in it co-exist with those that aren’t. Our first step in this direction is to give neighbours the opportunity to comment or complain," Tanabe said.
