Airbus CEO quits
Airbus chief executive Christian Streiff has resigned and is being replaced by Louis Gallois, co-chief executive of parent company EADS.
Streiff has been CEO since July, when he replaced Gustav Humbert who was ousted along with EADS co-CEO Noel Forgeard.
Gallois is a former head of French state railway company SNCF.
“The new structure will allow for simpler and more effective management,” said a statement from EADS.
According to reports in the financial press, Streiff had wanted more money in order to put a plan in place to complete the production of the A380, which has been delayed by two years.
Many of the 16 airlines awaiting the A380 have demanded compensation for the late delivery.
