Airlines have reported 3,000 cases of unruly passengers this year
Airlines have reported 3,000 cases of unruly passengers so far this year, the FAA says. It says the overwhelming majority of these stem from refusals to wear a face mask.
The agency has noted nearly 400 cases this year where passengers allegedly ‘interfered with the duties of a crew member’ which is a federal offense.
The total number is more than double the cases investigated by the FAA last year.
The FAA has taken a ‘zero-tolerance policy’ so far this year imposing numerous heavy fines on unruly passengers of several thousand dollars.
