A&K, Cox & Kings report strong interest in Japan trips
A&K and sister company Cox & Kings have reported increased demand as the delayed Tokyo Olympic Games makes its final preparations ahead of the opening.
Even though the Games go ahead without spectators, demand in travel to Japan has surged.
The lift in enquiries is predoinently clients wanting to experience the renowned cherry blossom season.
A&K’s Wonders of Japan Cruise: Cherry Blossom Season is almost fully booked with many options already taken for the 2023 sailing.
To celebrate the Olympics, Cox & Kings is offering savings on select departures of its group tour Japan’s Cultural Treasures, when booked by 2 September.
Pre-pandemic, Japan had become A&K’s number one seller with the company opening up its own office to cater to demand.
Specifically, there has been a significant trend towards honeymoons to Japan; while not normally a traditional honeymoon destination, clients who have delayed theirs are looking to spend more and tick off bucket list destinations like Japan.
Additionally, family holidays to Japan are proving popular – with A&K reporting ‘edventure’ as a significant trend.
On the back of demand for both Japan and wellness holidays, A&K has developed a new itinerary – The Japanese Art of Wellness.
This 10-night luxury trip explores internal rewilding, a return to nature called forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) that combats the wave of global urbanisation, a stay at the famous Aman Tokyo spa, and a visit to Karuizawa- a forest-bound, waterside sanctuary for wild birds, which offers physical and spiritual healing with both onsen and forest bathing.
Cox & Kings’ Japan trips include the 13-night Japan Family Adventure which includes a visit to a sumo wrestling training centre.
For all new bookings made before 31 December 2021 for travel through 31 December 2022, A&K are offering flexibility to change or postpone up to 15 days before their travel date.
