Alaska Airlines agrees codeshare pact with Emirates

Monday, 27 Oct, 2015 0
Gulf carrier Emirates has announced a new codeshare and lounge access agreement with Alaska Airlines.

From its two daily flights from Dubai to Seattle Emirates will place its code on Alaska’s services to 49 cities in North America including Honolulu, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Calgary.

The codeshare agreement, which is awaiting regulatory approval, offers Emirates flyers through ticketing and one-time check-in, boarding and baggage check.

"Passengers will appreciate the greater choice, improved connections and many added comforts and conveniences such as lounge access and priority check-in, as a result of our new codeshare agreement with Alaska Airlines," said Sir Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline.

"Alaska Airlines’ superior service and exceptional connectivity across the US and Canada, particularly in the Pacific Northwest, perfectly complements our global network and extends the range of travel options for both our customer bases."

Emirates Skywards Gold and Platinum loyalty members will be granted access to Alaska Airlines’ Board Room lounges in Anchorage, Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles when booking a codeshare itinerary while Alaska Airlines’ members may use Emirates Business Class lounges at Dubai.

The airlines launched a reciprocal frequent flier partnership in 2012.

"Our new codeshare agreement gives customers connecting through our West Coast hubs seamless access to Emirates’ global network," said Brad Tilden, CEO of Alaska Airlines.

"As Seattle’s hometown airline, our partnership already connects 2,500 customers a week to Emirates and we expect that to increase as we streamline the travel experience for customers traveling between Alaska and Emirates.
