Alaska Airlines appoints brand MD

Alaska Airlines has named Derek Chang as new managing director of brand experience.

Chang will lead Alaska’s branding strategy at airports, lounges and in-flight.

He previously served as head of marketing innovation at Starbucks, helping to develop its rewards program.

Prior to that Chang spent 11 years at T-Mobile as senior director of customer loyalty.

"Derek is an expert at not only connecting with customers in innovative ways, but also leveraging customer feedback to differentiate and drive continuous improvement," said Sangita Woerner, Alaska Air’s vice president of marketing.

"He will help us further showcase Alaska as the customer-obsessed leader in the airline industry."
