Flag carrier South African Airways has teamed up with Alaska Airlines to establish a new interline partnership
The partnership offers increased convenience for travelers between the US and Africa who can buy a single itinerary for travel on flights of both carriers via connections at New York-JFK International Airport or Washington-Dulles.
From there SAA customers can make connections to key markets on the west coast served by Alaska Air, including; Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland.
It also includes access to over 75 destinations in Africa served by SAA and its regional partners.
"This interline partnership will enable SAA and Alaska Airlines to expand their route networks to provide some of the quickest and most convenient connections between many west coast U.S. cities and destinations throughout Africa," said Todd Neuman, executive vice president-North America for SAA.
As well as through ticketing it includes interline baggage transfer from initial check-in.
