Alaska Airlines is still canceling up to 150 flights a day due to the ongoing grounding of its Boeing 737-9 Max fleet.
There is still no timeline when the planes will be approved to fly again as inspections are still being carried out.
The investigation into the blow out of a door plug mid-flight still continues.
Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci said the airline will continue to cancel flights and make major adjustments until the FAA completes its probe.
It is canceling between 110-150 flights daily.
“We will return these aircraft to service only when all findings have been fully resolved and meet the stringent standards of Boeing, the FAA and Alaska Airlines,” Minicucci said.
“With respect to the cancellations, I’ve asked our team to give guests as much advance notice as possible, and our reservations team is working around the clock.”
“The FAA is looking closely at Boeing’s manufacturing practices and examining potential system change”,’ the agency said.
“To all who have been impacted by these disruptions, I am sorry,” Minicucci added.
