Alaska cruise and Rocky Mountain train partner on packages
Canadian train company Rocky Mountaineer has announced a new global partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line that will offer combination Rail and Cruise holiday options in the United States in 2014.
Guests can ride the rails through the Pacific Northwest and the Canadian Rockies before or after their Alaska cruise, on Rocky Mountaineer’s new Coastal Passage route out of Seattle, WA, its first in the United States, as well as train departures from Vancouver, BC.
Five different Rail and Cruise vacation packages are available in 2014 linking the Rocky Mountaineer train with cruises on three of Norwegian’s ships: Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Sun.
Rocky Mountaineer VP of global sales Bob Nicholas said the company’s research found that nearly half its guests combine a rail journey with an Alaskan cruise.
The train trips include Vancouver, Banff and Lake Louise, and excursions like a helicopter flight over the towering Canadian Rockies.
Rocky Mountaineer’s Group Travel Consultants can help customize tours or meetings and incentive programs to match your group’s needs. Customized itineraries can include hotels, activities, meals, specialty rail cars and receptions.
Groups of 11 or more receive six complimentary options when booking a minimum of four nights; groups of 20 or more receive on free group package when booking three nights or less.
The Lounge Car features cocktail tables and lounge areas, customizable decor with your logo/branding/signage, and capacity up to 65 people.
