Alila heads for the hills in Oman
Boutique Asian hotelier Alila Hotels & Resorts will expand into Oman in late 2013 with the opening of Alila Jabal Akhdar, the first luxury resort development in the mountainous Jabal Akhdar region of Oman.
Set 2000 metres above sea level two hours drive from Muscat, the resort – with views of the Hajar Mountains – will provide access to one of Oman’s most spectacular and untapped areas.
Alila Jabal Akhdar will incude 78 rooms, six suites and two royal villas along with a cliff-side restaurant, pool, spa, fitness centre and events space.
The project is developed by Omran, the government owned tourism investment, development and management company.
Mark Edleson, president Alila Hotels & Resorts, said the Jabal Akhdar region was the perfect location for the hotel group’s first foray into the Middle East.
Alila currently has projects underway in Indonesia along with future expansion into China and Europe.
