All Canada to cease operations for 2003
All Canada Travel & Holidays, the specialist tour operator to Canada, will not be operating a programme for 2003 due to the fall off in business following 11 September.
The company said business will continue to trade through until the end of October after which the majority of the staff will be re-deployed to other positions within the group.
Ken Gaylard, managing director of the Hoseasons Group – owners of All Canada, said he regretted the decision, explaining: “Like others in the North American market we saw an immediate fall off in business following the attacks on the world trade centre. We decided to try and weather the storm continuing to promote and market the All Canada programme.
“Regrettably, nine months after the disaster the market has not improved sufficiently nor do we believe there will be a significant upturn. We have therefore decided not to continue with this product. Business will continue as normal for the remainder of this year but no bookings will be taken for next year.
“All Canada has been a successful and award-winning, though non-core, product for Hoseasons but with no indication of an upturn in the market we believe it right to make this decision now before committing to a new programme for next year.”
