All travellers face mandatory Covid tests on arrival in Singapore
Starting next week, all inbound travellers are required to take a Covid test upon arrival in Singapore.
The PCR tests are required for all Singaporeans and permanent residents as well as foreign visitors.
It takes effect from 25 January.
It is in addition to the current stay-home notice requirements which includes another test at the end of the period.
To streamline the process all travellers are ‘strongly encouraged’ to register in advance and pre-pay for their on-arrival test.
"The multi-ministry task force regularly reviews Singapore’s border measures to manage the risk of importation and onward local transmission from travellers," the Ministry of Health said.
"Given the resurgence of Covid-19 cases around the world, we will be putting in place more stringent measures for travellers."
Additionally, authorities said all Singaporeans and permanent residents returning from the UK and South Africa will have to spend an additional seven days in self-isolation at home.
This takes effect from 18 January.
Also, travellers applying for entry under the Air Travel Pass and Reciprocal Green Lanes will need to book travel insurance cover for Covid-19-related medical treatment expenses.
