Alliance Air appoints India’s first female airline boss
India is getting its first ever female airline CEO.
The government announced the appointment of Harpreet Singh as CEO of Air India’s regional carrier Alliance Air.
Singh has been Air India’s Executive Director in charge of flight safety.
Captain Nivedita Bhasin will take over Singh’s current position.
Singh holds the distinction of being Air India’s first female pilot back in 1988.
Singh is a former head the Indian Women Pilot Association and is Mumbai Chairman of the Aeronautical Society of India.
Alliance Air operates to 43 destinations with a fleet of 18 ATR aircraft.
It flies from hubs in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
