London…07 May 2002, AltaVista UK, a leading Internet Search Engine and global provider of search software, and HotelClub, an Australian online travel company specialising in the sale of accommodation at discounted rates, will provide AltaVista UK users with a premier online hotel search.

Search engine AltaVista UK, which has more then 2.6million unique users each month, has integrated HotelClub’s extensive database of 3500+hotels across 33 countries, into the AltaVista UK Travel search centre. Users will now be able to access and search worldwide accommodation and benefit from a selection of special offers.

The UK agreement follows after a successful launch with AltaVista Australia last October, with HotelClub becoming one of the most popular search partners on AltaVista Australia despite the negative effects on the travel industry after the September 11th events. As 25% of HotelClub’s global business was already generated from Britain, AltaVista UK was chosen as the first partner in their European expansion plans.
