Amadeus changes track on train bookings
Amadeus has announced further joint development with rail booking solution Evolvi and has also started discussions with thetrainline.
The group has decided to work with existing rail booking companies in the UK, instead of developing its own product.
Amadeus and Evolvi have launched Evolvi UK Rail (ERS Ltd) as an Integrated Partner with Amadeus e-Travel Management (AeTM).
The two claim this latest development offers a “complete end to end management information rich rail booking solution to the end user who will be able to use the familiar AeTM booking environment with the added convenience of ERS’ comprehensive rail content”.
The solution was successfully piloted with Barrhead Travel.
At the same time, Amadeus has started discussions with thetrainline.com to explore opportunities to integrate its rail booking solution in a similar way.
Amadeus MD UK Tim Russell said: “Based on customer demand and feedback, Amadeus has taken the decision to offer our corporate and travel retailer customers the opportunity to work with the leading rail booking specialists in the UK rather than focus on our own travel agency point-of-sale solution.
“By offering deeper integration between Evolvi and Amadeus solutions, our customers will enjoy an even faster, streamlined and easy-to-use rail booking experience.”
