Amadeus launches rail booking tool to UK

Monday, 17 Nov, 2014 0

Amadeus has launched its rail booking tool in the UK helping agents sell international rail.

Rail Display gives agents access to rail company schedules and inventories, as well as enabling them to issue issue tickets and assign seats.

Initially it is featuring content from launch partner Voyages-sncf which includes most services out of the UK into Europe including Eurostar, TGV, Thalys and TGV Lyria.

But agents have to be accredited by Voyages-sncf before using the selling platform.

Further international rail options will be added in the near future.

Rail Display is integrated into travel agencies’ tools and processes, allowing agents to combine air, hotel and rail content in a single booking.

Diane Bouzebiba, managing director, Amadeus, said: "Travelling on high speed rail in Europe is a superb experience and the time is now for travel sellers to embrace growing consumer demand and the extra earning potential of international rail travel."
