Amadeus refines self-booking tool
Amadeus has further refined its self-booking tool to allow users with mobility issues to put in special requests for help at airports.
Passengers who are visually impaired or can’t negotiate the airport physically will be able to ask for a guide or wheelchair at the time of making their booking.
Amadeus has also souped up hotel and air fares content in the latest release of its e-Travel Management version 12.0 as well as tweaking the tool so that it shows premium economy class fares within its single view display.
Other improvement include a best available rate hotel indicator, eradicating the need for travellers to compare rates on different websites and systems, and the ability to select a ‘passenger type’ where users qualify for a discount which the tool automatically figures into the booking.
Amadeus head of global commercial operations Frank Palapies said: “We want to ensure a more tailored service for business travellers via our technology and the features we have added to Amadeus e-Travel Management 12.0 respond to this. Business travellers with mobility impairments – whether temporary or permanent – should not have to spend any more time than other travellers on booking special assistance.
“We want the corporate self-booking tool to cater to all business travellers needs while ensuring corporations reduce expenditure, without sacrificing quality.â€
