Aman to open first US urban hotel in New York
Luxury resort group Aman has unveiled its next ‘island destination’ – in the heart of New York City.
Aman New York, situated on Manhattan Island becomes Aman’s second urban destination after Tokyo, and the third US location following Amangiri and Amangani.
The property overlooks Central Park at Fifth Avenue and 57th in the iconic 1920s Crown Building and will feature 83 guestrooms and suites.
It will also house 20 private homes – the company’s first Aman Residences.
"The Crown Building represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring Aman to New York, the world’s greatest and most dynamic city," said Aman CEO Vladislav Doronin.
"We look forward to absorbing the vibrant energy that is New York and fusing it with our own unique formula."
Aman New York is being designed by long-time collaborator, renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, and occupies the entire Crown Building.
Amenities planned include three social dining spaces, a three-story spa with indoor pool, and Aman Members’ Club.
Aman New York will also boast a cigar bar and subterranean Jazz club.
