Luxury hospitality brand Aman has opened reservations for Amanvari, its newest resort on the East Cape of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, ahead of an official opening on August 1, 2026.
Set along the shores of the Sea of Cortez within the private Costa Palmas community, Amanvari will feature 18 standalone Casitas and a limited collection of Aman Residences. The property marks Aman’s first retreat on this untouched stretch of coastline, where desert landscapes meet the sea.
Designed as a secluded sanctuary immersed in nature, Amanvari offers sweeping views of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains and surrounding estuaries. The resort combines Aman’s signature minimalist design and intuitive service with a strong connection to the Baja California environment.
The project was created by Studio Elastic, with early contributions from Heah & Co., and draws inspiration from the region’s striking ecosystems. Giant Cardón cacti, native Red Copal trees, Blue Hesper palms and endemic wildlife shape the setting throughout the resort.
Guests will have access to Costa Palmas’ private amenities, including a Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course, organic farms, orchards, a marina and yacht club, and miles of swimmable beach.
Experiences focus heavily on outdoor adventure and nature exploration. Activities range from diving with manta rays and sea turtles in the coral reefs of Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park to off-road excursions into the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. Private fishing trips on the Sea of Cortez, horseback rides along the coastline and beachside dining experiences are also part of the resort offering.
“The opening of Amanvari represents another milestone in our vision of creating destinations intrinsically connected to their environment,” said Vlad Doronin, CEO of Aman Group.
“On the eastern cape of the peninsula, where desert landscapes open onto the Sea of Cortez, there is a rare sense of space, silence and harmony. Amanvari was designed to celebrate this environment and invite guests to connect with both land and sea in a deeply immersive way.”
The 89 m² Casitas blend indoor and outdoor living with expansive terraces, heated private pools, outdoor showers and flexible lounge spaces designed to follow the changing desert light throughout the day. Interiors feature raw white concrete, natural stone, wood and mineral finishes crafted by local artisans.
Each stay includes daily breakfast, in-room refreshments, complimentary use of non-motorized water sports equipment and bicycles, a daily wellness activity and fully customized itinerary planning.
Dining concepts will include Arva, Aman’s Italian signature restaurant, and Sesui, a Japanese venue with a 10-seat omakase counter. Additional venues include Luma, focused on Mexican coastal cuisine and wood-fire cooking, alongside casual poolside and lounge dining options highlighting regional ingredients.
Wellness will play a central role at the resort through the Aman Spa & Wellness Centre, which incorporates traditional Mexican healing rituals and longevity-focused therapies. Facilities include a contemporary Temazcal steam bath experience, hydrotherapy houses with a hammam and banya, six treatment rooms, an outdoor yoga pavilion, beauty salon and 24-hour fitness center.
For longer stays and ownership opportunities, Amanvari Residences extend the Aman lifestyle with private pools, panoramic views, dedicated concierge services and access to the Aman Private Office for bespoke travel and lifestyle experiences.
Amanvari joins Aman’s growing pipeline across the Americas and Caribbean, including upcoming projects in Miami Beach, Beverly Hills, the Bahamas and Texas Hill Country.
