American Airlines is launching a new flight to Hong Kong from its LA hub as a direct response to customer demand.
The service kicks off on September 7, 2016 and will be operated as part of American’s transpacific joint business with Japan Airlines.
It will operate Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the route which is still awaiting regulatory approval.
"We announced new domestic Los Angeles routes at the end of January, and customers let us know they wanted more great service to even more destinations," said Andrew Nocella, chief marketing officer for American Airlines.
"This route connects customers in Los Angeles with one of the world’s most important business markets and provides convenient connections to important business and leisure destinations across the Pacific."
