American and BA to increase JFK flights
British Airways and American Airlines are increasing schedules between Heathrow and New York JFK next year.
Flights will increase from 11 to 13 on March 25, with one extra from BA and the other from American.
Tickets are already on sale.
The news was announced as BA, American and Iberia celebrated the year anniversary of their transatlantic tie-up and outlined the next steps of their partnership.
Beginning in 2013, American will introduce to its fleet 260 A320 and 200 B737 family aircraft.
BA takes delivery of A380s and B787s in 2013 and new B777-300ERs are being integrated to the fleet.
Iberia is investing in the renovation of part of its long haul fleet.
Between autumn 2012 and spring 2014 it will receive up to 16 Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which are 15% more fuel efficient than the aircraft they replace.
A new Business Class cabin in Iberia's long haul flights and enhancements in the long haul Economy class are due to be ready by the end of 2012.
