American Airlines is expanding its Caribbean and Latin America network from New York with new routes starting this fall.
Beginning November 21, American will fly daily to Montego Bay and San Jose from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The airline is also starting weekly flights to Liberia.
"We’ve been taking a hard look at New York overall just to better understand where the opportunities are. In New York City, we have a very good business destination portfolio. It became very apparent to us that we probably had some opportunities on the leisure side, as well," said Jim Carter, American’s sales chief for the Northeast.
American said it will also upgrade daily seasonal service to Antigua and weekly Aruba flights to year-round operations.
The Aruba service departs from New York LaGuardia.
