American hopes to have most aircraft back in operation by Q2
American Airlines is seeing a real upswing in travel demand, and expects most of its aircraft will be back in operation in the second quarter of 2021.
American said its seven-day moving average of net bookings is up to 90% of its 2019 average, buoyed by demand for summer travel. It is confident booking volumes will continue rising into the second quarter.
The progress of vaccination programs in most states has led to ‘recent strength in domestic and short-haul international bookings,’ it said in a filing.
