An American tourist was fined €500 for driving over the centuries-old Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence.
The Ponte Vecchio is an iconic Florence attraction across the Arno River.
The 34-year-old Californian drove over the pedestrianized bridge in a Fiat Panda rental car.
The fine includes driving without an international driver’s license.
He claimed he was looking for a parking spot and didn’t notice he was on the famous bridge.
