And finally…last chance to nominate for women in technology awards
There is now only one day left for nominations for a new awards ceremony designed to highlight the lack of women in the technology industry.
The CWT everywoman in Technology Awards have been launched to demonstrate the many opportunities for women in technology and to honour the inspirational and successful women working in it.
By shining the spotlight on role models, the awards organisers hope more women will consider a career in technology and will be inspired to bring their skills and experience to technology companies.
According to the latest figures, 1.2 million people are employed in the IT workforce in the UK, but only 23% are female.
Karen Gill MBE and Maxine Benson MBE of Everywoman
Maxine Benson, MBE, co-founder and director of Everywoman, said: “We hope to uncover some truly inspirational women whose success demonstrates the vast career opportunities within technology.”
The award categories include Rising Star of the Year Award, Innovator of the Year Award, Entrepreneur of the Year, Inspiration of the Year Award and Woman of the Year.
The Awards are free to enter and applications can be made online at: www.everywoman.com/techawards until today, January 7.
Entries will be judged by a panel of select businesswomen and entrepreneurs.
This Awards programme will culminate in a ceremony and luncheon to be held on 22 March 2011 at The Landmark Hotel in London.
