Argo Holidays has created a new role for the latest addition to its team – Paul Tilling. It means a return to the brands AsiaWorld and CaribWorld for Mr Tilling who was reponsible for them before they were acquired by Argo from Hong Kong-based Westminster Travel, which shut down its UK arm in January. At the time Mr Tilling was UK general manager of Westminster Travel. Mr Tilling will take up the role of product director of longhaul at Argo reporting to Akis Christoforou, group leisure chief executive. He will regain responsibility for the AsiaWorld and CaribWorld programmes. Any future longhaul acquisitions will also come under the Argo Holidays ‘World’ banner, and be overseen by Mr Tilling. The company plans to launch an Indian Ocean and Middle East programme later in the year. Mr Tilling said: “Unlike some other comapnies which give only a cursory treatment to the regions, we will produce a comprehensive programme in the autumn.” New AsiaWorld and CaribWorld brochures are also being planned under the Argo umbrella which also includes Jetlife Holidays. Argo Holidays sales and marketing director, Theo Demetriou, said: “Paul’s expertise and extensive experience in the longhaul sector ensures he will be a valuable addition to the Argo Holidays team.”
