Association of Asia Pacific Airlines chief stepping down
Long serving director general of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines Andrew Herdman, is stepping down.
Herdman will vacate the position in March 2020 after 15 years at the helm.
He will be replaced by Subhas Menon.
Menon has more than 35 years of experience in aviation with Singapore Airlines Group.
Menon served there in various senior management roles such as international relations, marketing, product development, and logistics.
Most recently he was regional vice president for Europe.
As AAPA chief Menon’s role is to advocate for member airlines across a wide range of aviation policy issues, and work with other aviation industry stakeholders.
The organisation actively lobbies to aid its member airlines to meet the challenges of aviation safety issues, security, infrastructure, regulatory oversight, and environmental sustainability.
"The Asia Pacific region is already the largest aviation market globally, with further great opportunities ahead of us. Subhas Menon, with his breadth of international and commercial experience, is very well qualified to lead AAPA in its next phase of development," Herdman said.
