AUC reports rise in complaints
Complaints and enquiries to the Air Transport Users Council (AUC) rose 7% to 14,503 in the year to April.
In its annual report, the AUC revealed that complaints and enquiries more than doubled in the first quarter of this financial year, which included the disruption to air travel due to volcanic ash.
In the period April to June 2010, the AUC received 7519 complaints and enquiries, compared to 3086 for the same quarter the year before.
Its report also said the significant increase in booking tickets online has led to an increase in written complaints about reservation issues.
Since 2006/7 the Council has seen complaints on this topic rise from 211 to 389 last year.
