Private equity group 3i has acquired tailor-made specialist Audley Travel for £159 million from fellow investor Equistone.
3i director Tom Salmon described Oxfordshire-based Audley Travel as ‘an excellent fit’ to its existing portfolio, offering ‘genuinely tailored experiential travel’.
The deal is 3i’s second UK investment this year, illustrating how buyout firms are becoming more selective, according to the FT.
Chief executive Ian Simkins, chairman Richard Prosser and the rest of the management team will remain in place.
