Outtraveller.com has conducted its 2005 readers choice awards for the best holiday destinations in the world, with Australia featuring prominently in several categories.

Sydney tied third with Amsterdam as the best Foreign city, with Paris beating London for top spot.

The Sydney Mardi Gras was voted “best all gay event in the world”, edging out Amsterdam and New York’s Pride parades.

Turtle Cove Resort in Queensland tied for Best Gay Resort and Spa.

The Westin Hotel, Sydney was voted best hotel in Australia / South Pacific.
