As Australia’s largest tourism trade show, the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE26), wrapped up its latest edition at the Adelaide Convention Centre on May 15, Tourism Australia made the announcement that ATE will return to Sydney in 2027 for the first time in five years.
This year’s event attracted more than 2,900 attendees, including buyers from 32 countries, connecting leading international tourism buyers with world-class Australian travel experiences.
ATE27 will spotlight everything Sydney and regional New South Wales have to offer. The announcement comes during a major growth phase for the NSW tourism sector as it prepares to welcome passengers to the new Western Sydney International Airport later this year, while Australia gears up to host the Rugby World Cup in 2027.
Robin Mack, Managing Director of Tourism Australia, said Tourism Australia has delivered ATE for nearly five decades, reinforcing its importance as the country’s leading annual event for connecting Australia’s unique tourism experiences with international buyers.
“This year’s trade show has generated strong business results. These face-to-face meetings have strengthened relationships and created a pipeline of future business that supports the continued sustainable growth of Australia’s tourism industry,” Mack said.
Karen Jones, Managing Director of Destination NSW, said the organization is excited to partner with Tourism Australia to host the major trade event.
“We look forward to welcoming travel buyers and visitor economy stakeholders to the ICC Sydney for ATE27 alongside our NSW tourism operators. The long-term benefits created by the event are significant — the relationships built and future business generated play a key role in driving inbound tourism growth,” Jones said.
ATE27 will be delivered by Tourism Australia in partnership with Destination NSW at the International Convention Centre Sydney from May 16–20, 2027.
