Avalon Waterways is expanding in Southeast Asia for the 2018 season, introducing a new vessel to Vietnam.

The cruise line will launch the 36-passenger Avalon Saigon in September 2018, effectively doubling capacity in the market.

It will join sister ship Avalon Siem Reap on the Mekong River with weekly departures and a variety of other cruises including two new 18 and 21-day voyages.

Avalon also announced a new 16-day cruise on the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar.

The company’s 2018 programme also sees more of its Active Discovery cruises in Europe, including new eight-day sailings on the Rhine departing from Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

“Travel today is all about choice, so we have designed our latest offer to provide our guests with more flexibility and more options when planning their dream trip. Whether they want to add on a city stay at the end of their cruise, see a bit more of the region or simply upgrade their cabin, it’s their choice,” said Globus National Marketing Manager Chris Fundell.
