BA extends on-line check in for families
Set to take the stress out of family travel British Airways has extended its new on-line check-in facility to include children and infants
Now, mums or dads can simply log on to ba.com from their own home or elsewhere on a journey, 24 hours in advance of their flight, choose their seats and check in their whole family, with the system having been designed to be easy to use with simple step-by-step instructions and available on more than 97% of British Airways routes.
The final stage of the very straightforward set by step process is simply to print off their boarding passes ready to take to the airport the following day.
The result is that families can travel to the airport stress free knowing that they are already checked in and having to face that nightmare check-in queue, as on arrival at the airport, they just hand over their luggage at the ‘Fast Bag Drop’ desk and go straight through security to the boarding gate.
To help families prepare in advance for their journey the airline has posted a broad range of travel information on www.ba.com including details of baggage allowances and airport facilities and special child meals can be booked up to 24 hours before the flight departs.
Families and groups of up to six will be able to check in on-line in one transaction and Jayne O’Brien, BA’s Head of Brands and Marketing Communications, said: “Everyone looks forward to their holidays but we recognized that the airport experience could be quite stressful for families and groups and we want them to start their journey as relaxed as possible, so we have extended the reach of our very popular on-line check-in facilities to allow families and groups to speed through the airport and arrive on board ready to enjoy their flight with us”.
On-line check-in is not available for children travelling as unaccompanied minors and on-line boarding passes can now be printed for more than half of British Airways flights including the majority of European and Intercontinental flights.
