Bahamas outlines next tourism recovery phase
The Bahamas will ease more restrictions next month, including opening beaches and large hotels.
Minister of Tourism Dionisio D’Aguilar announced the third phase of reopening will kick off from 15 October.
D’Aguilar said all hotel guests will become VIPs, which means they must follow a 14-day Vacation-In-Place (VIP) stay in hotel resorts.
They will have access to all in-house facilities such as spas, gyms, and hotel bars.
Phase 3 will also allow for the reopening of attractions, excursions and tours from 1 November.
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation is working with airlines to secure more direct airlift in time for the start of Phase 3.
Once Phase 3 begins, it will look at announcing a tentative start for Phase 4 which will be when cruise ship calls will be permitted again.
