A strong 6.4-magnitude earthquake shook Bali early on Tuesday, but there were no initial reports of damage or injuries.
No tsunami warning was issued.
The quake’s epicentre was at a shallow depth of eight kilometres, the US Geological Survey said, putting it 278 kilometres south of the island’s capital, Denpasar.
Indonesia sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where continental plates collide, causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
