Banyan Tree pampers Chinese with luxury offerings
Galaxy Entertainment will open the group’s latest integrated resort in Macau in early 2011.
Raymond Yap, a senior vice president with the group, said Galaxy Macau’s Asia-centric platform, including abundant Chinese influences found particularly in the resort’s dining, shopping and entertainment offerings, mirrors tourism patterns to Macau.
He added that from January through October 2010, more than 97% of Macau’s 20.7 million visitors were from Asia, with almost 11 million hailing from Mainland China.
Galaxy Macau’s partner hotels, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and Okura Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, are entering Macau for the first time.
James Chow, director of sales & marketing, Banyan Tree Macau, said, “Galaxy Macau is going to be an especially enticing proposition for Mainland visitors because of how it brings a Southeast Asian-style luxury beach resort closer to them.
“People will be able to enjoy a completely unique sanctuary of luxury suites, floating villas, private cabanas and spa that complement the property’s rooftop white-sand beach and wave pool.”
