Barbados updates Covid-19 travel protocols

Sunday, 21 Apr, 2021 0

Barbados has updated its travel protocols as it continues to manage the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Responding to the progress of vaccination drives in many countries, it has updated entry requirements.

It will permit entry from 8 May for fully vaccinated travellers having received the AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech or Johnson & Johnson vaccinations.

In addition they must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 PCR test result three days prior to travel as well as a vaccination certificate on arrival to Barbados

They must also have a standard or rapid Covid-19 PCR test done at the airport or at their approved accommodation.

Specially designated transportation providers will be available at the airport for hotel transfers for those awaiting the results of the on-arrival Covid test.

All fully vaccinated travellers will be required to quarantine for approximately one to two days.

Special considerations have been made for unvaccinated children under 18 travelling with fully-vaccinated parents.

Tourists who have not been fully vaccinated are required to provide a negative Covid-19 PCR test on arrival taken three days prior to travel

They must stay in their rooms until they receive a second negative Covid-19 PCR test which will be taken five days after arrival.

Due to the fluidity of the Covid-19 pandemic, these new protocols are subject to change at short notice.
